Join MultiState with Assembly Speaker Steve Yeager of Nevada on January 30 at 2pm ET to discuss his new role and session priorities.
Steve Yeager has represented Assembly District 9 (southwest Las Vegas) in the Nevada Legislature since 2016. He has chaired the Assembly Committee on Judiciary since the 2017 legislative session. In addition, Steve has served as Speaker Pro Tem since 2019. Following the 2023 election, Steve was elected as the Speaker designated by the Assembly Democratic Caucus. When the legislature is not in session, Steve practices law at Battle Born Lawyers, focusing primarily on personal injury cases.
Prior to that, Steve was a Chief Deputy Public Defender at the Clark County Public Defender’s Office, a position he held for more than eight years. After law school, Steve worked as an associate at a large law firm for five years, specializing in class action and commercial litigation defense.
