Robert F. Montellione

Bob Montellione is state tax policy advisor with MultiState Associates, the nation’s leading state and local government relations services company. Bob focuses on helping clients identify and advance strategic tax policy objectives in the states. Bob previously served as Vice President in charge of state tax policy at Prudential Financial, Inc. In that role he worked with governmental agencies, tax organizations, other corporations and legislators on a variety of state tax policy matters. He began his career with the Illinois Department of Revenue, moving later to Merck & Co., where he primarily handled state tax audits and planning. Subsequently, Bob worked at AT&T, where he helped navigate many challenging state tax issues brought about by the divestiture of the Bell System. He left AT&T to start up a state and local tax practice in the Philadelphia office of Arthur Young. After the firm's merger with Ernst & Whinney, Bob became Ernst & Young's State Tax Director for their Mid-Atlantic region. Bob is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a Masters in Taxation from Seton Hall University. In addition to being having served as Chair of the Council On State Taxation (COST), Bob serves on a number of state tax advisory boards and is also a frequent speaker at various state tax conferences and seminars.
