While a new month always means upcoming state and local lobbying compliance deadlines, December is especially important because the majority of states and many municipalities also have expiring registrations that need to be renewed for the upcoming calendar year.
In December, 10 states have periodic disclosure requirements due. In other words, if you’re already registered in one of these states and are required to file disclosure reports, you must do so in the coming month. Additionally, the City and County of San Francisco has disclosure reports due. The map below shows the states with these requirements in December.
Thirty-eight states plus the District of Columbia require re-registration for 2023, as do 29 municipalities. Check out the map and table below for which states and localities that have expiring registrations on December 31, 2022.
